A Taste of Napa Valley: Duckhorn Wine Dinner

Join us at PIER 290 for an evening featuring the wines of Duckhorn Vineyards, paired with a four-course dinner in our Upper Deck overlooking Lake Geneva. 

Known for their Napa Valley roots and signature varietals, Duckhorn wines are crafted with balance and approachability in mind, making them an ideal match for a menu designed to highlight both flavor and seasonality. Each pairing throughout the evening has been selected to complement the dish, bringing out the best in both the food and the wine. 

The evening begins with a reception and passes hors d’oeuvres, followed by a seated dinner where each course builds in depth and richness, ending with a bold, memorable finish.

Third Course:   

Slow-Roasted Duck Breast, Cherry Gastrique & Root Vegetable Hash  

Wine Pairing: 3 Palms Merlot 

Fourth Course:   

Warm Dark Chocolate Lava Cake, Candied Orange, Fleur de Sel, Dark Chocolate Glaze & Bitter Chocolate Soil  

Wine Pairing: Duckhorn Cabernet 

Each pairing has been selected to enhance the natural flavors of the dish. The Sauvignon Blanc’s bright acidity and citrus notes bring out the freshness of the oysters and seafood, while the Chardonnay’s smooth texture and subtle oak complement the richness of the lobster bisque. 

The Goldeneye Pinot Noir adds an earthy, fruit-forward balance to the mushroom risotto, highlighting the depth of the truffle and Parmesan. For the main course, Duckhorn’s Three Palms Merlot offers dark cherry and plum notes that mirror the cherry gastrique while balancing the richness of the duck. 

To finish, the Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon pairs seamlessly with the chocolate lava cake, its bold structure and dark fruit notes matching the intensity of the dessert without overwhelming it.
