What Are the Wine Spectator’s Awards?
The Wine Spectator Awards are prestigious honors presented by Wine Spectator magazine, recognizing restaurants around the world for their exceptional wine programs. These awards are given to establishments that demonstrate a strong commitment to wine, offering well-curated selections that appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. This award will feature PIER 290 on their website as well as a publication coming out this August.
There are three levels of recognition—Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence, and Grand Award—each reflecting the depth, quality, and presentation of a restaurant’s wine list. The awards celebrate not just the diversity and value of the wine offerings, but also how well they complement the restaurant’s cuisine and overall dining experience.
What Wine does PIER 290 Offer?
Bolstering tremendous California offerings, highlighting the Napa Valley region, we offer spectacular wines with premier vintages for enthusiasts of all palates. Some to highlight, but certainly not limited to: Quilt, Caymus, Mt. Brave, Mayacamas, Silver Oak, Poetry, and wines by Realm.
Moreover, we also offer a wide range of varietals from the White Wine category—Frenzy Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, Far Niente Chardonnay, and Veuve Champagne (for your celebratory needs). We have 125 different selections of wine available ranging from $45 a bottle up to $450 a bottle. Our wines feature both the traditional Napa Valley region wines that have won wine of the year, such as “Double Diamond”, all the way up to the newly discovered regions of Oregon and Washington State.
